How to run faster !
For all who expect me to lay out a perfect training plan , stop reading now.Its not that simple but I can give you some advice that will benefit anyone.
First ; GET OFF THAT PLAYSTATION.The single biggest disaster to ever hit British sport.Have you noticed the once dominant USA have also taken a hit.
Find yourself a good coach who is qualified and applies his/her knowledge sensibly , with a view to long term development.Good coaches will be level 3 UKA .It is no accident that the athletes who are flying have a good coach that they trust.Unlike other sports there are training groups of athletes from more then one club who cluster round a good coach. They coach the group of athletes to get the best from themselves not like football where its win at all costs every week.Training every day at a young age isn,t always the best thing to do.
STAY OFF THE BURGERS AND CHIPS ! McDonalds smell nice and are okay as an occasional treat (if thats what you call it)but Athletes cant progress eating this stuff i,m afraid. If you hate lettuce don,t eat it .No food is indispensible.Look at food groups and work out if you have a balanced diet.Theres no need to be obsessive about it.When you become an international athlete someone will no doubt get you planning very carefully.
Get something down you within forty mintes to an hour of training. This helps your body tissues repair themselves and replenishes Glycogen stores.
Buy your shoes, trainers and spikes with care.Go to a specialist runners shop.If you can find one with a treadmill/gait analysis you have found a good one.the assiatants should also know what will suit your feet. That way you stay injury free and return to buy again.
Rest properly.Okay all us coffin dodgers are bound to say that but its true you will end up running on empty.Rest is important for recovery of both body and mind.you can still have fun just plan rest into your schedule.
Have some other activities to take your mind off running when youve had a bad race.Support others in your training group.friendships are important.Try and have fun as well as trying to achieve.Listen to experienced runners who have done well. You can learn some things whilst still being yourself.
Sounds easy doesn,t it ? Nothing worth achieving is done so without hard work.Hope this has provided food for thought.
